LEAGUE INFORMATION

Mission

Our mission is to develop players together within their home city. By providing top-notch training and opportunities to connect with peers, our goal is to build strong communities and help local high schools cultivate athletes with fundamental skills, chemistry, and great character.

Team Placement

Our league is organized by age, experience, ability and by city, with 4 teams per division, and each team can have up to 10 players. To ensure a fair playing field, players may be moved up or down through divisions based on the talent pool in their respective division.

We take great care in placing players in the appropriate division that matches their skills and experience. The most talented players in an older division, while players with less experience may be placed in a lower division. This system ensures that players are challenged and can continue to improve their skills as they progress through the league.

Pre-Season

We strongly encourage all players to attend Pre-Season practice as it is essential for our coaching staff to evaluate each player's talent level and adjust the teams and divisions before our FIRST GAME. Our goal is to create an environment where every player can compete at their highest level and make the league as competitive as possible.

By attending Pre-Season practice, players will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and abilities, which will help us place them in the most appropriate team and division. This will ensure that each player is challenged and can continue to grow and develop their skills throughout the season. We try to balance out the teams with guards and centers to insure that each team is as balanced as possible.

Coaches

At PTBA, our coaching staff works collaboratively to develop the entire league. During practices, coaches follow the "PTBA Curriculum" (Four Pillars) which is designed to develop players' fundamental skills and promote teamwork.

Each team is assigned a designated coach for the entire season who will provide individualized attention and support to the players.

During our practices, the players typically rotated through drills that follow TWO of the FOUR PILLARS from our PTBA Curriculum. They also have a short TEAM TIME specifically designed by their coach and then finish their practice with some kind of scrimmage game. The practices also may include some GAME SCENARIOS that each team works through against an opponent offensively and defensively!

Playing Time

Each player is guaranteed 12 minutes of playing time.

Games have four 10-minute quarters.

Report Cards

At the end of each season, all players will receive individualized Report Cards that detail their progress in key areas such as ball handling, shooting, passing, defense, and basketball IQ.
